Mercedes-Benz to Unveil All-New Pick-Up on October 25, 2016

It was long rumored that the German luxury auto giant, Mercedes-Benz is working on the first-ever pick-up vehicle and the news is now confirmed by the carmaker. Reported to be labelled as GLT-Class or X-Class, it is due for making its debut on October 25 this year in Sweden. One of the teasers has also been released by the automaker online showing a little bit design and curves in a very quick manner.

With the ever increasing demand of this segment in the global market, Mercedes-Benz doesn't want to leave a single chance of garnering the cash for any reason, thereby it has joined hands with Daimler and Renault-Nissan Alliance to design the pick-up. Moreover, it will share the platform with Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan that are ruling this particular niche for a while. A press release from the said alliance confirmed earlier that more details on the pick-up will be out later this month.

With information available, it will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Cordoba, Argentina and at Nissan’s Barcelona manufacturing plant in Spain. A test mule of the same was also caught on camera hinting features such as a wide grille with swept back headlamps, flared wheel arches and muscular fenders. When it comes to powertrain, it is likely to be available with four and six cylinder engine options including both petrol and diesel guise. Besides, a six-speed manual transmission will be offered as a standard attachment, while a seven-speed automatic transmission unit will be there as an option.
