Mercedes Released Roadmap For 2017 Models; Facelift for GLA, S-Class, And Other More...

Mercedes-Benz has released the details of its models onslaught for the year 2016 and 2017 during a presentation on its recently released half year financial result on Thursday. Some of them have already been known while few are entirely surprises.

The roadmap confirms that the German luxury automaker will launch a facelift version of S-Class and GLA Crossover as well in the next year. Whereas, some of E-Class models i.e. Sedan and Station Wagon will be launched by this year-end. It should be noted that the upcoming model chart shows the global launch of these vehicles, so the arrival date can differ for different countries.

Starting with the next year’s first row launches, E-Class Coupe, All-terrain and Cabriolet: The latest generation of this mid-sized sedan, E-Class was introduced last year and till now it has also received body style update. The sedan and the estate version of the E-Class are already on the sale, while the Coupe and the cabriolet version will be unwrapped by the start of next year. The Coupe and the Cabriolet versions will continue with the same powertrain and will be built on a sedan platform except the two rear doors. However, the All-Terrain model will be a completely new addition to the lineup, more on this will be known once revealed.

Another two new facelift models listed in the roadmap are S-Class and GLA Crossover; the current generation of the S-Class flagship was launched in 2014 and considered among the most successful products. Offered in 10 body styles with multiple engine options, the facelift version is not expected to launch with major changes to its appearance besides new lighting packages.

GLA, considered as the smallest crossover from the brand and second most popular car from the MFA line-up after the A-Class. The exterior updates to the facelift version, are expected to new lighting packages along with the new set of wheels. However, the cabin may receive some technology-wise features.

About the launch of these new models in the Indian market, we can expect them in the first quarter of 2018.
