Mercedes S Class Cabriolet Revealed in Official Images

Last month, Mercedes had revealed the design sketch of its upcoming S Class Cabriolet followed by the release of an image showcasing its cabin. This time the luxury automaker has revealed this beauty in breathtaking image that displays its side view. It is scheduled to make an appearance at the Frankfurt Auto Show to be held on 15th of September. Except from its removable top, it looks much similar to the S Class Coupe model in terms of styling and designs from outside as well as from inside. Its roof can be folded/unfolded in just 20 seconds while the car is moving at a speed of 60 kmph.

This Cabriolet has been fitted with amazing automatic features like 'Aircap' for providing wind protection, 'Airscarf' for neck-level heating, heated armrests and seat heaters for the rear occupants. Further, the automatic climate control is taken care of by a 'Thermotronic' system that contains 12 sensors and 18 actuators for detecting the cabin climate. Its interior flaunts Nappa leather upholstery and there is a hi-tech Command infotainment facility. The instrument cluster receives a 12.1 inch display screen and there is a Burmester audio system as well.

There are two powertrain options available with this Convertible including a 4.7 litre, V8 unit for the base spec model along with a 5.5 litre, V8 unit for the top end trim. The former engine delivers 455 hp and 700 Nm output and is clubbed to a 9-speed automatic transmission facility. Moving on to the top ranging AMG 63 Cabriolet, it gets an output measuring 585 hp and 900 Nm. Power is transmitted to all the four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission unit.
