Oh yeah! You read it right in the title! Mitsubishi is bringing the Monetro back in the Indian car market that was earlier discontinued in 2014 owing to very poor sales. It was confirmed when the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi's Indian hand has announced to take pre-booking for the unit. Moreover, the beast has also been listed on the company's official website.
The car will be brought in the country through the same CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Offered in the only diesel engine trim, it will be priced at INR 67.28 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, Maharashtra). In addition, there is also 7 different color options available to choose from- White Solid, Eiger Gray Metallic, Platinum Beige Metallic, Quartz Brown Metallic, Warm White Mica, Black Mica and Cool Silver Metallic.
Under the hood, the SUV will be powered by a 3.2-litre turbocharged, four cylinder, diesel engine that is tuned to fire out a power of 189 Bhp at 3,800 rpm and a torque of 441 Nm at 2,000 rpm. With the help of a 5-speed automatic gearbox, the engine will deliver the power at all the corners.
In terms of features, it comes with chrome door handles, rain sensing wipers, LED daytime running lights, sliding sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, power front seats, AC vents, chrome inner door handles, cruise control and aluminium pedals. For safety, ABS with EBD and six dual airbags are there.
