One of the world's iconic and ultra premium motorcycle brand, MV Agusta has launched an exotic superbike the F4 RC in India. Fundamentally, the motorcycle is a race replica of an exclusive F4 FC in the brand’s lineup. Tagged with an eye-watering price tag of Rs. 50.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), only a single unit of the F4 RC is granted to the Indian market out of the limited 250 units worldwide. So, an immediate collector's buy item is ranked fourth in the list of available most expensive motorcycles in the country.
A few months earlier, MV Agusta has launched the F3 RC limited edition, similarly, only the 250 units have been produced for the global audience and India has got 9 units from the said figures. The bikes from MV Agusta house which contains 'RC' suffix in the models brand, generally stands for 'Reparto Corse,' which is meant for lighter and faster version of that model. On an interesting note, both the above-mentioned bikes are wrapped in the company's World SuperBike Championship (WSBK) racing bike’s livery and are exclusive race replicas.
Coming back to all new MV Agusta F4 RC, the bike is based on the flagship F4 RR model and been hand built by the specialist's team of the company. However, the race replica receives exotic material in order to reduce weight and for giving the perfect race bike experience. Weighs only 175 kg dry, the F4 RC is also powered by the same 998cc, inline-four limp seen on all the F4 models. However, the motor has been retuned for the best possible performance with the generating maximum power of 205 PS and consequently delivering the boosted peak torque of 215PS by using the additional racing kit. The bike is also fitted with the 2.0 EAS (Electronically Assisted Shift) Quick Shift as a standard component for dynamic riding.
Undoubtedly, one of the most beautifully designed motorcycles on this planet, the track-oriented MV Agusta F4 RC is blessed with high-end Ohlin's suspension set-up which comprises upfront Ohlins NIX 30 forks and an Ohlins TTX 36 rear shock absorber with full electronic control. Whereas, the braking duties are under the supervision of high-performance Brembo GP 4-piston radial calipers on the 320mm dual discs at the front. Moreover, the Bosch ABS 9 Plus with RaceMode is also integrated with the braking system for advanced safety. The Bosch ABS 9 Plus featuring utilizes an RLM (Rear wheel Lift-up Mitigation) system which helps to prevent rear wheel lift under heavy and emergency braking.
Apart from this, this race focused replica, is also adorned with MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) and the ELDOR electronics package with ride-by-wire, multiple engine maps (riding modes), 8-level traction control, lean angle sensor, etc. The bike rides on its WSBK sibling-inspired wheels wrapped with high-performance Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa rubber. The 4-in-1 exhaust pipe system under the seat in place of the standard 4-pipe exhaust complements the bike’s beauty and complete the race bike appearance.
