New BMW 5-Series Launched in India, Price Start at Rs 49.9 Lakh

Today, BMW has launched its new 5-series in India at an introductory price sticker of Rs 49.9 lakh. The new 5-series consists of three trim levels- the Sport Line, the Luxury Line, and the M Sport along with different engine options- one petrol and two diesel. The list of BMW 5-series cars with their ex-showroom, Delhi prices are as follows

Petrol
530i Sport Line - Rs 49.9 Lakh

Diesel
520d Sport Line - Rs 49.9 Lakh

520d Luxury Line - Rs 53.6 Lakh

530d M Sport - Rs 61.3 Lakh

Notably, all the mentioned prices are post-GST applicable and the deliveries against bookings will be provided in July 2017.

Mechanically, the 530i Sport Line is the only variant, which is being offered with the petrol engine. The 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol mill is capable of producing 252hp of maximum power. Out of the two diesel engines, the 190hp, 2.0-litre oil burner powers the 520d Sport Line and the 520d Luxury Line trim. While, the range-topping 530d M Sport variant comes loaded with the 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, under the hood. The mill churns out 256hp of massive power output. The transmission duties in all the engines will be handled by the eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard fitment.

In terms of styling, based on the BMW’s latest Cluster architecture platforms shares styling cues from the new 7, which also underpins the same chassis.

2017 BMW 5 Series Launched in India

If the equipped features on the new 5 Series are being considered, it is more technically sound than its predecessor. As, it comes furnished with attributes at the skin, such as adaptive dampers, adaptive LED headlamps and an anti-dazzle high-beam which expands the vision range to half a kilometer. While, inside the cabin, the car now employs four-zone climate control, a new-gen iDrive system with 10.25inch display, gesture control, wireless phone charging, a 600W Harman Kardon audio system and electric seats with massage functions.

Moreover, the 360-degree camera, remote parking function via BMW display key are some other features for the driver assistance are also being provided by the German carmaker.

In the Indian luxury car segment, the new 5 series will go in competition with the likes of the Jaguar XF, Audi A6, Volvo S90 and the new Mercedes E-Class long wheelbase.
