New KTM Duke 390 to Reach Indian Outlets by February 2017; Priced Higher Than Outgoing Model

The 2017 KTM Duke 390, which has been premiered at the recent EICMA motorcycle show in November 2016, has received a lot of appreciation from the visitors at the event. The sources nearest to the development department suggests, the arrival of this upcoming at the authorized KTM dealership across the country by the February 2017. Probably, the bookings for the motorcycle will commence in the last week of January 2017 and the vehicle will be handed over to its owner in April 2017.

The new version of Duke 390 has observed hosts of noticeable changes on cosmetic as well as on mechanical end. In the Indian market, It is likely to hit the market with the price sticker in between INR INR 2.10lakh to 2.15lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), that is around INR 15-20K more expensive than the current model.

Apparently, sharing the design cues from the elder brother, KTM Super Duke 1290, the 2017 KTM Duke 390 looks much sportier than the regular model. The motorcycle now gets new bifurcated LED headlamp with LED DRLs, a full-color TFT instrument console, a revived split seat and a new steel fuel tank with 13.4-litre capacity.

Mechanically, the new-generation Duke 390 will get the propelling power from the same 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine of the current model. Reports suggest this naked street may get a second balancer shaft to the engine’s cylinder, to lower down the vibration and churning out more power. However, the company has worked on the mill to make it BS-IV emission norms compliant and faster heat dissipation. Coupled with a six-speed gearbox transmission, motor exhales 44bhp of power and 35Nm of torque.

Furthermore, the 2017 390 Duke will have the similar side-mounted aluminum exhaust system and Ride-by-Wire (RbW). Suspension duties on the upcoming will be taken care by the WP upside-down front forks and a rear mono shock. Whereas, the braking duties will be under consideration of disc brakes in integration with the ABS system and slipper clutch.

The official announcement of new 2017 390 Duke launch and its price has not been revealed yet. But it is likely to be revealed as soon as possible.
