Yamaha Motors, a Japanese manufacturer of motorcycles, has unveiled the new generation Yamaha R15 V3 in many countries but not In India. Yamaha never gave consent on whether the bike will be launched in India or not. But, the spotted bike has answered to many questions.
The first spy shot of Yamaha R15 V3 is caught in Delhi and the rumor about being the new generation R15 V3 is confirmed by the test rider itself. The spy images are provided on the internet via motoring forum BikeAdvice. Also, the news is that Yamaha India is going to launch the motorcycle at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Spectators have spotted the bike in a fresh and new looks. The bike is powered by a 155.1cc single-cylinder, fuel injected engine which is mated to a six-speed gearbox setup and Valve-Event Modulation(VEM) technology to add flexibility to the engine’s valve train. The engine is able to extract out the maximum power of 19.31 PS at 10,000 RPM and the maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 RPM.
There are some variations in the India-spec R15 V3 variant than international spec bike. We can realize the missing Upside Down Forks (USD) and replaced regular front forks in India-spec variant.

International-specific R15 V3 is equipped with refurbished suspension system with USD which is identical to Yamaha M-Slaz. One of the attractions in the bike includes slipper clutch as standard which is the first time in the 150cc segment (unsure about the feature being included in India-spec variant). The bike has disc brakes at both ends with a larger 282mm unit on the front end.
Onboard specifications include an 11-litre fuel tank, LED headlamps, aggressive fairing, and slipper clutch. The weight of new Yamaha R15 v3.0 stands at 137 kgs and the bike is available in Matte Black paint scheme and other two Race Blue and Matte Red variants. The rider positioning and pillion seat comfort are scaled up with Saddle height and seat position enhancement.
The new Yamaha R15 V3 is priced at the starting range of approx Rs. 1.68 lakh on road in Indonesia. India-spec variant of Yamaha R15 V3 is expected to downgrade its features to fit in the price range of Rs.1.2 lakh.
