Next-gen Jaguar XF India Launch in This September

The second generation luxury saloon, Jaguar XF is all set to make its way to India even before the F-Pace SUV which was scheduled to come first, but will now launch in October. The major update to the next generation XF sedan is the new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine which will also be followed by the F-Pace SUV.

Tata Motors-owned British luxury vehicle manufacturer, JLR is now gradually expanding its portfolio in the country. In India, most of the luxury auto market is dominated by the German brands i.e. Mercedes-Benz, Audi.

Under the hood, the new XF will be launched with the choice of two powertrains, the all new 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. From JLR’s Ingenium family, the new 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel motor is globally offered in two states of tunes, in India only 180 hp version will be launched. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre petrol engine is capable of producing the maximum power of 240 hp in combination with the peak torque of 340 Nm. Both the engine units are mated to an 8-Speed automatic gearbox which transmitted the power to the rear wheels.

While the diesel powertrain will be offered across all the three variants, the petrol option will be launched in the ‘Prestige’ and ‘Portfolio’ variants only.
To offer easy and comfortable drive, the new Jaguar XF comes equipped with ‘Jaguar Drive Control’ which enables the driver to choose among the four driving modes - Standard, Eco, Dynamic and Ice/Rain/Snow mode. Other highlighted features of the car include a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 14-way electrically adjustable front seats and bi-functional Xenon headlamps.

On the price side, both the upcoming models (XF sedan and F-Pace SUV) will be launched with the slightly higher price tag as the models will be imported to the India as CBU (Complete Built Unit) route. When launched, the second generation Jaguar XF will lock its horns with the likes of Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class.
