Next-gen Nissan GT-R Might be Offered in Hybrid Version

The powerful Nissan GT-R has been known for it speed and efficiency across the globe. The automotive news reports that the next generation Nissan GT-R is likely to come in hybrid option. The company is planning to expand the lineup and develop more powerful GT-r this time. In talks with the automotive news executive, Nissan’s Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura has put some weight on bringing more electrified cars in the coming years. He assured that it’s not a thing to be surprised in seeing the next-gen Nissan GT-R in an electrified avatar. The officer emphasizes on more electric cars in the future.

Meanwhile , the facelifted version of the Nissan GT-R is said to arrive in the US showrooms by next year. Also, the next-generation is going through a new designing process in the Nissan’s design centre, where engineers are working seamlessly on the upcoming model. The company is also reportedly working hard on tuning the 3.8-litre twin-turbo engine, which will be assembled in the next-gen mode, making it more powerful and fuel efficient. Other details are yet to come as the model is still in the development phase. It is going top take a good amount of time and the launch is expected around 2018.

2017 Nissan GT-R Rear

We are also familiar with the facelift version of the 2017 GT-R, which was previewed at the the New York Auto Show in March this year. Since the first debut, the 2017 Nissan GT-R has undoubtedly received a good amount of facelift character. The facelift model gets a reprofiled front grille and hood. The interiors also sport newly designed body panels and upmarket dash panel equipped with value added features.

Moreover, Nakamura didn't assured that the next GT-R will be actually the hybrid or all-electric but he emphasized on giving it an hybrid makeover. He adds, "Electrification is almost inevitable for any car. If the next-generation GT-R has some electrification, nobody would be surprised at that time."
