Nissan New Compact SUV to be Unveiled Next Year in India

It has already been known that Nissan is aiming to build a sub 4 metre compact SUV and now, there is an information that the company will debut this vehicle at the 2016 Auto Expo in India, where Terrano crossover is also anticipated to be showcased. Design wise, this new upcoming model would inherit its properties from the Kicks concept that has been premiered at the 2014 Sao Paulo International Auto Show in October. The manufacturer had also made an announcement that this concept version will be engineered at the design centre of Nissan in San Diego, U.S.A and Riode Janeiro, Brazil.

The Kicks seems to undergo production in Brazil next year, while the production of Indian spec car is unconfirmed. Moreover, the concept measures 4.3 metres length for the Brazilian market, but for the Indian automotive sector, Kicks inspired forthcoming compact SUV will be around 4 metres long. This vehicle is expected to be based on the same V platform as the Micra and Sunny. In foreign, it will be powered by a flex fuel engine, whereas in our country, the runabout would be machined with a 1.5 litre dCi diesel engine.

Notably, the crossover model is likely to be priced between INR 15 Lacs to INR 18 Lacs and will also give straight competition against the Honda HR-V, Renault Duster and Fiat 500X.
