Nissan Teases Image of Next Generation Leaf Concept

Nissan has recently teased a vague image of its future electric car that seems to be a concept for the next generation Leaf model. The revealed image appears to be a hatchback, but possibly it could be a compact crossover as well. The front end of the car is shown in the still, which highlights the portions like bumper, grille, headlamps and a hint of wheels. The concept will be displayed officially with full details on 28th of October at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. It is believed that the soon to be revealed concept will feature an improved drivetrain.

A closer look at the teased image will help you observe a v-shaped grille fitted in a mesh pattern that is flanked by a pair of LED daytime running lights on each side. Further, it has an illuminated waistline, pronounced wheel arches, distinctive and aggressive hood, and twin-spoke alloy wheels. It also flaunts the “Zero Emission” badge at the right fender. Moving on, its roof and pillars can be seen in a contrast paint shade.

The next gen Leaf is due for launch in the year 2017 in the global market and much like its current version, the upcoming one will also be offered as a family car. It is anticipated that there will be more improved safety features alongside a powerful mechanism. It is likely to make use of an upgraded set of batteries that will enable the car to run for 400 km in a single charge as opposed to its current caliber of covering 250 km.
