Nissan to Introduce Next Generation Micra with Improved Interiors

Renowned automaker Nissan is planning to introduce the next generation Micra with a revamped interior. The current model which is being exported from India has reportedly failed to impress the European customers. As a result, the company is keen to update this model with more improved and better interior features. According to company officials, the updated model, for the foreign markets, will be based on the Renault-Nissan CMF platform. It will also be inspired from the Sway concept displayed at Geneva Auto Show. However, the Indian version will continue to carry the same V-Platform, just like the present model.

The poor quality of Micra's interior is being linked to the fact that the model is manufactured in India. But the Executive Vice-President of Nissan, Mr Trevor Mann says that, those who define the product are to be blamed for its failure instead of the production site of the model. He has reportedly stated that after receiving feedback from customers, the updated model will be presented with a “big difference”.

The new version of Micra will feature an enlarged cabin with high quality features in its interior portions. Along with this, the exterior portions will also see a remarkable change. This would mean that the company is likely to come up with an all new smaller car in the near future.

The next generation Micra is expected to be manufactured in India. Besides, there are also some speculations that the production will take place at company's UK plant. Currently, this car is fighting for the market share in India and competing with hatchback models like Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Honda Brio.
