The Italian marque, Piaggio is considering the launch of a powerful scooter offering of its Vespa product, GTS 300 in the Indian motoring market. The scooter is in the Indian lineup, which may lodge its presence in the coming third or fourth quarter of this year. Now, the Italian firm is observing the interest of the audience toward this powerful scooter, the positive response will tends to bring it via a CKD route.

Cosmetically, the Vespa GTS 300 gets steel wrapping over its skeleton which gave it a magnetic attraction altogether helps the skater in offering dynamic handling and stability on the higher note of acceleration. Moreover, it gets an info-rich semi digital instrument cluster with an LCD screen which consists odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and clock
While mechanically, it carries a single-cylinder motor which having displacement of 278cc. The engine setup is powerful enough to produce power of 22 bhp and peak torque of 22.3NM. With this churns power and torque, a scooter can easily attain the top speed of 128 Kmph. The required braking has been done by the 220mm disc brakes at the front and rear wheel with the contribution of two-channel ABS.Traction control features are also there for more safety. The claimed the fuel economy for this powerful Vespa GTS 300 is 28 kmpl.
Not meant for the mass market segment, scooter GTS 300 will not mark that high sales figure. The Piaggio Group is now focused on its target of establishing itself in the Indian market by opening Motoplex showrooms throughout the country to increase their reach to the audience.
