Piaggio India Commences Aprilia SR 150 Deliveries in Six Indian Cities

Almost a month ago, Piaggio has launched the sports crossover Aprilia SR 150 in India at a starting price tag of INR 65,000 (ex-showroom, Pune) on August 22. Now the company has initiated the deliveries of the booked scooters in six cities as Pune, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Bangalore, Kerala and Chennai, in its initial phase. In the near future, the Aprilia’s first scooter will also be seen at all the authorized dealerships across the country.

Even an officially released statement from Piaggio suggests the company is receiving an upsurge in the bookings of Aprilia SR 150. The partnership between the Italian giant and the online retail firm Paytm could be considered as a fact which not only provides the facility of online booking for the customers but also supports the automaker in getting good sales for the Aprilia SR 150.

Aesthetically, blessed with an aggressive and sporty styling, the crossover feature peculiar handlebars, dual headlamp assembly on the front apron and 14-inch multispoke alloy wheels. Available in the two shades of matt black and white, the bike gets dual tone red-black seat offering on both the colour options. While mechanically, it is packed with the same 155cc, air-cooled, 3-valve engine that powers the existing Vespa scooters. The motor is capable of churning 11.4bhp of power and delivering the torque of 11.5Nm with the linked CVT transmission unit.

Commenting on this occasion, Stefano Pelle, Managing Director and CEO, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL), said, "The commencement of deliveries of the Aprilia SR 150 is a milestone moment for all of us at Piaggio India. This is the first bike from the Aprilia stable that has been designed for the India market and is being manufactured locally. With the Aprilia SR 150, patrons can now experience the racing heritage of the brand on Indian roads. It has managed to create a new category of crossover bikes in India and is receiving a favorable response from the youth of India."
