'Very Very Innovative' Pulsar Coming Soon: Rajiv Bajaj

In a recent meet with Economic Times, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, confirms a new Pulsar model in June 2019. However, beside explaining the model, he keep on saying that the company is all prepared to do ‘something remarkable’ with the models such as the CT, Platina and Pulsar brands in coming June. Mr. Bajaj further revealed that the company’s marketing and R&D department has spawn something different for the aforementioned all three monikers. However, it will be seen with the new variants that what’s new they will get. If going by the Mr. Bajaj, the new products will be ‘very very innovative’ and the audience would find them really attractive.

As of now, all said could be considered as guess from anyone that what Mr. Bajaj would offer to brand’s aficionados. Still, the June is not that far to clear doubts. Nevertheless, it’s affirm that the Pune based bikamaker is working on updating Pulsar family with significant changes. Also, we could see a new Pulsar in June which will commence an array of new launches at regular interval of time till 2020.

FYI, the next generation models are more likely to comply with the upcoming new emission and lately updated safety norms. Furthermore, we could witness the elimination of products such as the Pulsar 135 LS and 180 due to their awkward market positions. Instead of them, the company will introduce two models as replacement to cater mainstream and volume rich segments.

On the other hand, the two wheeler OEMs are not in good situation due to the market slowdown and alarming levels of inventories at dealerships. Among others, Bajaj is the only automaker which manages to increase its market share by 8 percent in motorcycle segment beside facing such adverse conditions. While as of now, noone can say exactly when will the slowdown stop still Mr. Bajaj expects that the time period from March to June will see an increase in sales due to the marriage season. That’s why, Bajaj is not even thinking about slowing down its production in order to maintain inventory as per the demands. Also, It will help bike maker in enduring increased sales.

Mr. Bajaj further said that the company does not depends only on the Indian two wheeler market as compared to its primary rivals like the Hero Motocorp and the HMSI. FYI, around 50 percent of its production is exported by Bajaj Auto to 80-90 markets. While Bajaj’s motorcycle market share is about to reach closer to the market leader Hero Motocorp.
