Renault Kwid has finally made its way at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 with two new variants, Kwid 1.0 Manual and 1.0 AMT. As the name indicates, the car will get a 1.0-liter engine that is expected to generate over 75PS of power. It will give a tough fight to the cars, such as Alto K10 and Eon 1.0. Now, let's take a look over the specifications and features of both the models.
The Renault Kwid 1.0 is packed with an all-new 1.0 Sce (Smart Control efficiency) engine, having DOHC and four valves per cylinder. As of now, the power and torque specifications of this engine are not introduced. The engine is featured with a five-speed manual gearbox as well as the expected five-speed AMT.
The company stated, “The new Easy-R Gear Box by Renault is a five-speed Automated Manual Transmission system derived from Renault's Formula 1 expertise”. It can be controlled with an Innovative Shift Control Dial with three driving models- Drive, Neutral and Reverse, placed under the infotainment system on the center console.
The Kwid's AMT uses and advanced control unit that continuously optimise gear shifting along with the acceleration by monitoring the throttle input. It's featured with the crawl function, which operates the car to move slowly at idle speed when just the brake is released, while the throttle is not used.
