Renault has finally started the booking procedure for its much talked about upcoming crossover Kwid. In some cities, the dealerships are already accepting orders, while at the remaining locations, it will commence in the next few days. Prospective buyers can get this model booked after paying a fixed amount to the dealers. However, this amount varies as per the locations in which the company showrooms are situated. For some areas it is INR 20,000 while for other regions it is INR 50,000. Interestingly, the automaker has still kept the launch date under veils, but the car is being promoted at full pace.
The upcoming model will be a unique combination of a crossover and a hatchback, thereby inhibiting the qualities of both the body styles. Carried on the CMF-A platform, this model stands on 13/14 inch alloys and highlights a dual-slat grille. It also receives body cladding on the sides and offers the ground clearance of 180 mm. The front end is strong built like a typical SUV, while the rear end indicates a hatchback structure.
The interior of the car flaunts a spacious cabin housing a digital instrument cluster, AC vents and power windows. The top ranging variant will also boast of a 6-inch infotainment facility with USB and AUX compatibility. As far as the mechanical configuration is concerned, a 0.8 litre, 3-Cylinder motor will be the source of power for the all new Kwid and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The launch date has not been announced officially but is is anticipated to arrive in the market by next month.
