Renault To Assemble Kwid Hatchback Locally in Brazil

French car-maker Renault has stated that it will start the assembling operation in Brazil. The assembling operation will be carried away at Renault's Ayrton Senna Industrial Complex in Curitiba, Brazil. The Brazilian spec Kwid will be developed locally and is likely to be hosted under the Renault Technology Americas, which is one of the renowned Renault strategic engineering centres across the world.

The new Kwid model will be designed via Renault Design Latin America (RDLA) located in Sao Paulo. The Brazil-spec Kwid will hold a reworked interior and exterior design counterparts, slightly different from the Indian-spec. The Kwid model has also been spied on the Brazilian streets on several occasions but under heavy camouflage. It hints the early arrival in the LAtin America. It is expected to be showcased at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show in November this year.

Till now, the automaker used to manufacture Kwid only in India. Renault India CEO and MD Sumit Sawhney had already talked about the Brazil counterpart and the plans about exporting the model to Brazil as SKDs (semi-knocked-down units). These units will undergo assembling operation at the local Brazil plant. The Ayrton Senna Complex has been into operations since 1998. The plant has been manufacturing and assembling models such as Duster, Master, Logan, Sandero and Duster Oroch.

Renault Kwid in India

In India, the Kwid has undoubtedly marked itself a successful product. The reports reveal that the company has sold over 50,000 units since ts launch. Renault India also witnessed a rise in sales graph by 12,426 in April this year.
