Today, the modernized version of the Mahindra XUV500 has finally been launched in India between the price of INR 11.21 Lac to INR 15.99 Lac, ex-showroom, New Delhi. This facelift SUV gets amazingly redesigned exteriors and interiors, whereas the mechanical features receives minor updates. All these reformations are enough to make this vehicle more interesting and compelling as compared to its outgoing variant. On the outside, it has new front fascia, including a chrome grille, latest headlamp cluster, L shaped chrome finished fog lamp enclosures and an S shaped LED daytime running lights. However, the rear end has been spruced up with uniquely designed rear door and chrome garnished registration plate enclosure.
Apart from bearing the new alloy wheels, its side profile remains almost same as the predecessor model. On the same hand, the manufacturer has also given mild updates to the interior that are adequate to render more mature and practical appearance than its old version. Inside, the regular trims include new beige plastic inserts and charming seat colors, while the top end W10 variant has been equipped with a DVD compatible infotainment system and a 7 inch infotainment touchscreen comprising zoom in feature.
Moreover, it also unifies a black as well as beige interior, revamped infotainment system, new navigation system, a start/stop button, electrically adjustable driver seat, 17 inch alloy wheels and a sunroof. Power comes from the same 2.2 litre four cylinder diesel engine producing an impressive power of 140 bhp and an appreciable torque of 330 Nm. This mill is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, which sends the power to two wheels or all wheels of the vehicle via 2WD and 4WD configurations, respectively.
Notably, instead of 15.1 km/l, the retouched model is capable in bestowing 16 km/l of fuel efficiency. In order to improve its ride quality and handling experience, Mahindra has updated the suspension and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) of this newly launched SUV. The top end version, XUV500 W10 AWD has been priced at INR 15.99 Lac.
