Royal Enfield Registers Highest Ever Sale in FY 2017-18

The financial year 2017-18 has been a great time period for the Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield. The automaker registers the highest ever sales of 820,492 units during that session. It was 23% more than the 666,490 units rolled out in the 2016-17 period.

The Domestic market also witnessed the similar hike of 23 percent hike with the recorded sales of 801,230 units in 2018 as against 651,107 units in 2017. While the international market 25 percent surge in FY 18 with 19,262 shipped units as compared to the 15,383 units in FY 17. The dispatched units in March 2018 is accounted for 76,087 motorcycles accumulated a rise of 27% over the 60,113 units sales in March 2017.

The company served the Indian audience with a total of 74,209 units in contrary to 58,549 units sold in March 2017. Whilst the company’s export figure is 1,878 units over the 1,564 units shipped in March 2017.

Apart from achieving heights in the domestic and international market, the company entered the Argentina market with its first flagship store in the capital Buenos Aires. Royal Enfield’s third exclusive outlet, under the supervision of Grupo Simpa, the company’s dealer partner will take care the liabilities such as sales, service and supply of spares. Besides, Argentina, the brand has its presence in countries like Brazil and Colombia in Latin American region.

Furthermore, the Royal Enfield is going to organised an event named One Ride on 8th April, Sunday. The programme will be held in over 114 cities in India and in 28 countries across the globe. Whereas, the Nepal tour which will kick off from 14th April and go until 29th April, is the 7th Edition of Royal Enfield Himalayan ride conducted in the Himalayas.

Ruling the 300-500 cc motorcycle segment in India, the Royal Enfield has potent rival Bajaj that is eyeing to bite into the segment with its flagship model, the Dominar 400. The TVC Haati Mat Palo campaign was also the part of that strategy. However, the Royal Enfield seems unaffected. Now it will be interesting to see that how Bajaj alliance with Triumph will work in order to produce bikes in the sub 500cc segment to take on RE.
