Royal Enfield to Open A New Manufacturing Facility in Tamil Nadu

Royal Enfield, the legendary name in the automobile sector that is known for its cruiser and adventure motorcycles in the world. Now, the premium motorcycle manufacturer is gearing-up to spread its current production capacity, considering the heavy demand for its bikes across the world. Therefore, the premium motorcycle manufacturer will open a new third manufacturing and assembly facility at Vallam Vadagal in Tamil Nadu by 2018 as Eicher Motors arms of the firm wants to increase double production capacity. In addition, The Eicher Motors also want to raise the production capacity of 4.5 lakh units per annum by the end of 2015 in its two existing plants that are located outer side of Chennai.

The company said that the Government of Tamil Nadu has allocated land for us at the SIPCOT Industrial Growth Centre. The new manufacturing unit is spread over 50 acres. The new plant will help to raise current production capacity of 70,000 units per annum to 1,50,000 units per annum. The new facility will produce the whole range of Royal Enfield bikes.

Moreover, the company has taken a crucial step as consider on its middleweight segment by leading and expanding 250-750cc motorcycle segment. And the Royal Enfield has made its appearance in the global bazaar by opening its showrooms in Dubai, Paris, Madrid and Columbia (4 dealerships in Columbia).

Mr. Siddhartha Lal, MD and CEO of Eicher Motor Said, “We will open our first exclusive branded retail store in the United States in Milwaukee in the first half of 2016.North America is a nodal market for motorcycles and one of the biggest in value terms. Given its critical importance to our global ambitions, we have decided to operate our wholly-owned subsidiary there.”
