Second-Gen Porsche Panamera to be Launched in India in March 2017

It sounds like the German luxury-sports car maker, Porsche has bigger plans for the year 2017. Recently, the company announced a launch of Updated Porsche 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman in India on this February 15. And now, the all-new 2017 Porsche Panamera is all set to enter the Indian market in March this year.

Taking the curtains off entirely, Porsche globally launched the second-gen Panamera range last year at a lavish event held in Berlin, Germany. However, here in India, we will see a four-door sedan with turbo mill on sale at the initial stage while other siblings will join the trail by the year-end, according to a report on Autocar India.

The Porsche Panamera Turbo features an all-new petrol powered 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 beneath its front end. The mill is capable of producing the immense power of 550hp that comes out at 5,750 - 6,000 rpm along with the peak torque of 770 Nm at 2,250 - 4,500 rpm. The power output boosts the car from 0-100 kmph in a claimed time of 3.8 seconds.

The Panamera Turbo sedan will be followed by an Executive Turbo which will be significantly an extended version of the Panamera. The Executive Turbo features a longer wheelbase by 150 mm that leaves greater space in the second row.
In terms of price, the standard Panamera Turbo is expected to carry a price tag in the region of Rs 1.9 crore (ex-showroom) whereas the Executive Turbo version will be priced over Rs 2 crore.

There are more plans on the paper, Porsche is gearing up to launch a set of petrol and diesel variants of Panamera which are likely to be seen by the end of this year. Along with it, a hybrid version will also be added in next year.

According to some reports, diesel powertrains include a 3.0-litre V6 along with a more powerful 4.0-litre V8 that churns out 442 hp and 850 Nm.
