September 18: A new Thunderbird from Triumph is Coming

Triumph Motorcycles, a well-known cruiser manufacturer, is preparing to increase the number of motorcycles on the Indian chart. The United Kingdom based company has its own prominence worldwide in producing cruiser motorcycles. The firm has recently announced that they will be launching a new motorcycle in India; named as Thunderbird LT. The launching event of the upcoming motorcycle will be going to happen on September 18, 2014.

Presently, Indian Triumph Motorcycles is having 11 products in its list. The 12th product which will be going to join is the all new Triumph Thunderbird LT (Light-Touring). An official invitation has been sent out through the media covering the launching event which will be going to take place in Delhi. The images we've come across by the launching posters gives a blur image of a cruiser motorcycle. And, the upcoming motorcycle is expected to be a Thunderbird LT.

The Thunderbird LT made its debut for the first time with its sibling, Thunderbird Commander, at the EICMA, 2013. The upcoming motorcycle gets its power from a liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, DOHC engine with an engine displacement of 1,699cc. The engine is capable to belt out a total power of 94BHP @ 5408 revs and a peak torque of 151Nm @ 3550 revs. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission, which helps to transmit the power to the rear wheel. To enhance the riding quality of the motorcycle, the company has given Showa forks at the front and Showa twin forks with 5 adjustable positions at the rear. On the safety front, the motorcycle will be featuring ABS as standard combined with dual disc brake at the front; catered by Nissin and single Brembo disc brake with 2-piston caliper at the rear.

The Light Touring motorcycle will be coming carrying a price tag of around 15-16 Lakh INR. According to its maker, this would be the first ever motorcycle which comes along with white walled tyres. The Thunderbird LT will make its availability in two different and amazing colors; Caspian Blue/Crystal White and Lava Red/Phantom Black.
