Skoda Kodiaq SUV to be Launch In India by Late 2017

Skoda Kodiaq also known as Kodiak, the first ever mid-size SUV was recently officially teased by the the Czech automaker. This clearly confirms its India launch sometime late in 2017. However, the SUV is going to be premiered globally in Berlin on September 1, this year.

The Skoda’s Vision S concept based Kodiaq is also expected to get company’s futuristic design ideology. Recently, the surfaced images of the camouflaged SUV while touring at the Tour de France program was a promotional strategy of the company to gather the attention of the petrolhead and make them think about the upcoming SUV.

Visually, the front end seems something like Volkswagen Tiguan international SUV and side profile will make you remind of Audi Q7 in design language. Based on Volkswagen’s MQB chassis, it measures 4.7m in length and gets large rear overhangs. As far as comfort concerned, it is claimed to have segment’s leading boot space and the third row seat foldable option.

Moving to the Interior, Inside the cabin, Skodia Kodiaq is likely to carry the similar infotainment, assistance and connectivity systems of the earlier launched this year, Skoda Superb. The other features may include Apple Carplay, Android Auto, SmartGate, MirrorLink, etc.

Skoda Kodiaq spied during Tour de France

Under the hood, as per some media reports suggests, Kodiaq will house the same powertrain of the Skoda cars with both turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The mill is likely to mated with a six-speed manual or a DSG (direct-shift-gearbox) automatics. Four wheel drive system also could seen on this upcoming SUV.

On pricing, it will carry the price tag between Rs 23 lakh to Rs 30 lakh and will be positioned besides the new Skoda Superb in the Indian product portfolio.
