Jonathan Harris, Skoda new retail concepts manager says that, “Customers are seeking convenience and excellent service when looking to make a car purchase, and with more and more people doing their research online ahead of going to the showroom, the SKODA Live Tour brings the retail experience to a digital world that is easily accessible.” Our SKODA Product Hosts in the Live Tour essentially become our customer’s eyes and ears and use a series of static and handheld cameras to give the retailer experience via an online platform. The company thinks this is an important step for the brand and the future of automotive retail and how we interact with customers. Once we have opened up a dialogue with the customers in the online environment, we then encourage them to visit a Skoda retailer and test drive our models for real.

Skoda Live Tour is build up with Whisbi’s cloud-based conversational technology to provide the real retailer experience online. Smartphone camera and a static camera will be used in a Skoda's Product Hosts which helps to showcase the details of the car.Through Live Video Streaming, the consultant can show the interior and exterior of the car which demonstrates ‘Simply Clever’ features and also explain the details like infotainment-system menu and answer your specific questions, if any. If the prospective buyer is interested in the boot, the product host can take the buyer to the back side of the car through the mobile camera and showcase the loading space of the car live. Skoda Live Tour

Well, Skoda isn’t the first carmaker to introduce a digital platform for purchasing a car. Several companies like Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), Audi and Hyundai already have showrooms and digital dealership across the Globe. Audi established it's virtual showroom at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas whereas JLS revealed “Virtual Experience” in 2012 which allowed customers to interact and engage with an almost life-size high resolution rendering of any of the company's vehicles.
