Skoda Rapid Facelift Spied Testing in Lonavala

An engineering mule of 2016 Skoda Rapid Facelift has been caught on the camera in near Lonavala, Pune. It is not the first time when the car has been spied on the roads, earlier we had also seen some pictures of the same unit. From these spied shots, it is believed that the car is all set to hit the Indian auto market. It is expected that the automaker has no mood to change the mechanical spec, only the design can be twisted in this facelift version.

Although the 2016 model has been covered from the some corners, yet it is noted that it will feature a restyled bumper, signature grille and projector headlamps. The bonnet has also been redesigned to give it more impressive look. There isn't any information about the rear profile, it can be continued same as the earlier one.

Mechanically, the car can uphold the same engine options with a 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. Where the former is good for 103 Bhp of power and 153 Nm of torque and the latter is capable to pump out 103 Bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. Currently, both the engines are mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol motor is also packed with a 6-speed DSG unit.

Moreover, it is also being rumoured about the local manufacturing process for the upcoming Rapid. If the media reports turn out to be true then the price would also be reduced for the forthcoming models. Reportedly, the car will make its celebration at the Indian showroom by this festive season.
