Skoda to Launch Rapid Monte Carlo Edition in India in Early 2017

Skoda is gearing up to introduce the Monte Carlo edition of the Rapid in India in a couple of months. It is being reported that not only Skoda Rapid, the Czech automaker is planning to bring this sportier Monte Carlo edition for its all existing sedan cars over the next few months.

However, Skoda has been selling the Monte Carlo edition in the European market for years, and finally, the manufacturer has decided to turn its head towards the Indian market. This special edition of the Skoda Rapid will be introduced to cheer the successful motorsport journey of the brand. Globally, the Rapid Monte Carlo was unveiled in 2015 with a slew of cosmetic updates to enhance the sporting spirit of the car.

The international version of the Rapid Monte Carlo includes blacked-out cosmetic components such as grille surround, front and rear bumper, side mirrors, side skirt extensions, alloy wheel, boot lid spoiler and roof top. The red body paint further enhances the sportiness of the car. On the inside, the Euro-bound Rapid Monte Carlo features an all-black interior theme, black upholstery with contrast stitching and inserts, metal-garnished pedals and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Mechanically, the special edition remains identical to the standard one.

Although, the India-spec Monte Carlo Rapid is expected to be a bit different, while the style will be close. Coming on the complete specifications including the cosmetic changes and equipment of the India-bound model, since the Company is playing cards close to its chest, there is no confirmed information yet on it.
Apart from the Rapid Monte Carlo Edition, the Czech maker is also set to launch a more sporty version of the Skoda Octavia, the Octavia Black and the top-end Octavia RS, reports.
