SsangYong Tivoli Air First Drive in South Korea

Mahindra and Mahindra owned carmaker SsangYong has launched its mid-size SUV Tivoli Air in South Korea. As we reported earlier, the model had made its world premier at the recently concluded Geneva Motor Show carrying a name tag of Tivoli XLV. It is likely to be priced amid 19.49 million won to 24.49 million won that means about INR 12 Lakhs to INR 15 Lakhs.

Besides, the company had also showcased the India-bound Tivoli model at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo that might arrive in the country by October 2016. Yet to be cleared, it might be tagged with slightly lower price in comparison to the above mentioned one.

Talking more about the Air, it is measured of 2,600 mm in wheelbase that is similar to the regular Tivoli. Moreover, it has a boot volume of 120 litres that can be increased by 1,440 litre just by folding down the rear seats. A 220 Volt battery is situated in the cargo area to perform some electrical devices.

Mechanically, it comes with only a diesel engine option, while the India-based variant will be offered in only petrol trim. The former has included the specification of 1.6-litre e-Xdi LET unit that can be seen with the international standard Tivoli. Having these ergonomics, it is tuned to belt out a maximum power of 114 Bhp and torque of 300 Nm. To deliver the power through all wheel drive, the motor is mated with either a six-speed manual or an Aisin-sourced six-speed automatic gearbox.

SsangYong Motor CEO Mr. Choi Johng-Sik said, “Tivoli has been leading the county's small-sized SUV market with its innovative style and commercial value, especially popular among young motorists since its introduction last January."
