The rallyist has succeeded in making a record braking 17 minute 35 seconds lap at the racing track of IOM TT thereby smashing hi sown previous record of 19 minutes and 26 seconds.

Discussing about the car, it is named as Subaru WRX STI which was manufactured in collaboration with Prodrive, whereby both the entities have been working together in a partnership through 3 world championships. Just imagine how how hard it must have been for Higgnis to drive around the 1175 kg 4WD car in just 17 minutes at the average speed of 128.73 miles per hour. This translates to a mind boggling figure of 2017.17 kmph. Woah! This is some serious record braking stuff! Isn't it?

Interestingly this 37-mile race track mirrors the narrowness of the bylanes in metros. One has to be really efficient when he is driving in such a lane at this much of speed because there is a high risk for the car to collide with the stone-walled fences at each side particularly while taking turns.
