MG Hector is all set to launch somewhere in the middle of 2019 after the mid-size SUV Tata Harrier. It will be interesting to see which SUV will top the chart but for now, the hero's are the Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500 that are leading the chart. Let us look at the sales number of the SUVs which tops the chart in this segment.

Mahindra Scorpio

Mahindra Scorpio is the most popular SUV in the chart and that too by a big margin. Even after falling MoM and YoY sales figure, Scorpio for a long time is amongst the most popular SUVs in this segment. Till now, it is selling more than double the sales as compared to its nearest competitor in February 2019. It will be interesting to see whether this legacy will continue even after the new launches or not.

Mahindra XUV500

The second position is also grabbed by the Mahindra but this time Mahindra XUV500. In 2018, Mahindra XUV500 got a facelift but faced a loss in the MoM figures. But as compared to the last six months of sales, the February sales stands at an average.

Tata Harrier

February 2019 was a month full of the sale of the Tata Harrier. The SUV defeated Jeep Compass and is giving tough competition to the XUV500 which is less only by 400 units. Like the current generation, XUV500 is on the verge to end, the Tata Harrier is ready to grab its second position. Tata is going to introduce automatic engine option, a petrol powertrain and a 7-seater variant of the Harrier in coming days. It will be interesting to see the Harrier taking the place of XUV500 in the chart.

Jeep Compass

The sales of the Jeep Compass is consistent and stands at the fourth position with more than 1300 units in February this year. As compared to the last six months, the SUV sold 100 units more in February 2019. So let us see whether it will manage to hold this position or will go dull after the new launches.

Tata Hexa

As compared to the last six months in which there were sales of around 500 units, the first two months of this year were not so good for the SUV. The Harrier and the forthcoming MG Hector will get 7-seat variant in coming days which will give tough competition to the Tata Hexa and the SUV will not be able to handle the pressure and competition.

Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai Tucson is at the last place in the chart and at present makes only around 1 per cent of entire sales. It will be tough for the SUV to stand against the new SUVs.
