Suzuki GSX-R150 Power Figures Out; Defeats R15 and CBR150R

Suzuki Motorcycles has recently unveiled the Suzuki GSX-R150 and its naked iteration the GSX-S150 at the Indonesia Motorcycle Show in Jakarta. Both the bikes belong to the Gixxer SF and the Gixxer 155, Indian siblings of the showcased newbies. Comparatively, only the bolted powertrains of the above mentioned Suzuki’s newcomers and their Indian counterparts are same, besides all the other specification are relatively differ in nature.

In terms of sales, the mentioned Gixxer variants have turned out as a major crowd puller for the Japanese giant and continue to do the same in the International exports markets. In Indian launch perspective, the emergence of the GSX-R150 and the GSX-S150 is not clear and the good sales numbers of Gixxer trims could be a reason behind the unavailability of these immigrants in India, in the near future.

Looks-alike to the Suzuki Gixxer variants, both the motorcycles draw designs inspiration from their bigger siblings the GSX R1000 and the GSX-S1000. On featuring end, they got an embossed fuel tank with highlighted tank extension, chiseled LED headlamp, split-step up seat and multi-spoke alloy wheels. Apart from this, other offered features include a digital instrument cluster, keyless ignition, answer back function, dual emit exhaust muffler, etc.

If talked about the churn power figures, the motorcycles are going to beat the Yamaha R15 and the Honda CBR150 in this 150cc segment. As the description of the bolted powertrain which is same on both the vehicles is a 147.3cc water-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder DOHC engine. The motor is capable of generating 19.17PS of power at 10,500 rpm and delivering 14Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. If compare these power figures to the Yamaha R15 and Honda CBR 150R, which are rated to produce power outputs 17 PS at 8500 RPM and 15 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM, and 8.5 PS at 10,500 RPM and 12.66 Nm at 8500 RPM, respectively. Surely, the entry level Suzuki is winning this competition.

Moreover, the GSX-R150 which weighs just 126kg, which is more or less, 10Kgs and 12kgs lighter than the R15 and the CBR150R. The lightweight factor will help to offer an extraordinary performance to its owner.
