Suzuki iM-4 Production Version Revealed in Patent Images

Recently, a website named "alvolante.it" has revealed some patent images of the Suzuki iM-4 production version. These images resemble the concept model, which was previewed at the Geneva Motor Show back in March, 2015. However, on comparing both of these, there are subtle changes found at certain portions.

The pictures shown on the website indicate different door handles and smaller wheel arches. Further, the outside rear view mirrors as well as the headlamps have been transformed to impart a conventional look and the roof spoiler is also not present in the patent images as opposed to the concept version. Besides, the fuel lid and a rain sensing wiper at the rear end that were not seen in the concept have been added.

Dimensionally, the iM-4 concept measures 3,693 mm long, 1,705 mm wide and 1,566 mm tall with the wheelbase of 2,438 mm. Despite being a compact crossover, it carries a high ground clearance much like an SUV and is claimed to be an efficient off-roader by the company. Under the hood, it is fitted with a 1.2 litre DualJet motor with SHVS technology, thereby offering an impressive fuel efficiency.

The automaker has not confirmed anything about the introduction of this car to India, but it is definitely going to make an entry to the Japanese market. As for now, Maruti Suzuki is planning to bring a new sub-4m SUV, which will be the first of its kind by the automobile giant. It has been constructed using the XA Alpha Concept and is known with the code name YBA.
