Suzuki Launches 2017 GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R in India

Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched the sports runner 2017 GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R in India, today. The motorcycle is priced at INR 19 lakhs and INR 22 lakhs respectively and both the prices are applicable at Delhi dealerships. The bookings for both the bikes have already been initiated at a token amount of INR 2 lakh. The next generation Suzuki GSX-R1000 are claimed to be more powerful than the previous model while race spec GSX-R1000R is said to equip with premium components over the former model.

All-digital instrument console

As a concept, the new 2017 GSX-R1000 was firstly showcased at EICMA 2015 and the production version seems almost similar to the concept model. On powering front, the motorcycle is powered by a new 999.8cc inline-4 engine. With the support of engaged VVT (variable valve timing) technology in powertrain, the sports bike uses the churning power of 202 PS at 13,200 rpm and 117.6 Nm of torque at 10,800 rpm. Other than this, it is packed with cutting edge technologies like 6-axis inertial measurement unit and 10-level traction control.

With a wet weight of 200 kg, the GSX-R1000R is in excellent power-weight-ratio distribution category machines. An all-digital instrument console which features a huge TFT provides ride related multiple information to the rider.

The range-topping variant 2017 GSX-R1000R is more race focused and comes equipped with Showa balance free front forks and even balance free rear mono shock. As, it uses lighter components and gets electronic aids like launch control, quick shifter and even cornering ABS. With all the abilities, these bikes could become the king of superbikes in the coming future.
