Suzuki Officially Unveils India Bound Baleno in Images

Suzuki has recently unveiled the official images of Baleno, which is an upcoming premium hatchback and will soon make its premiere at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2015. In the global market, this car will be placed above Swift model. The manufacturing will take place at company's facility in India and then it will be exported to other countries. Talking about the looks, it bears resemblance with the iK-2 concept, which was displayed at the Geneva Auto Show, this year.

On comparing the released image with that of the iK-2 concept, the grille is almost same with certain changes at other portions. The front bumper has been re-designed that houses a narrower air dam flanked by a pair of fog lamps on either side. The wing mirrors on the sides are more in-line with the body and the alloys are also different as compared to the concept. Apart from this, the dimensions and other details are still unknown, which might be similar to the iK-2.

Inside the Baleno, certain elements are likely to be borrowed from the S-Cross and Ciaz models like SmartPlay infotainment system with navigation facility, automatic climate control, cruise control, driver side airbags, EBD, etc. Moving on to the mechanical configuration, it will comprise three powertrain options particularly for the Indian market. These options include a 1.25 litre K-Series petrol, 1.4 litre petrol and 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel units. For the international market, the car will be packed with 1 litre, 3-cylinder petrol motor that is likely to be fitted with SHVS Technology.

This upcoming premium hatchback will be competing for the market share with the newly updated models lie Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo. Further, the all new Jazz is also going to be a prospective competitor for the model. It is expected that Suzuki will launch this vehicle at the price tag of INR 5.50-9 Lacs, (ex-showroom).
