The latest iteration from the native automaker, Tata Tiago hatchback has been designed on an all new platform with advanced features including both cosmetic and technical. With the vehicle garnering surprising footfalls towards the dealerships, the automaker is also planning to launch a sport version of the same. If the new avatar gets to be introduced here, it will come up by November this year under the moniker of Tiago sports or Tiago Plus.
Currently, the powerful version of the unit is fitted with a 1.2-litre, three cylinder Revotron engine, which makes out 84 bhp @ 6000 rpm with 114 Nm of torque @ 3500 rpm. The upcoming variant would be blessed with a turbocharger into the same 1.2-litre unit so that it can boost an additional 25-30 percent power hence producing around 110 Bhp. There is no such report of changing in its transmission unit, the engine might be packed to the same 5-speed manual transmission to dispatch the power at wheels.

Recently, the carmaker has also soared up the price up to INR 8000 across its entire Tiago’s range. The rumour mill is also flying high about bringing an automated manual transmission unit with this beast. Apart from the mechanical changes, the company may also offer some new modification around its design in order to discriminate the unit from others. It may include, lowered ground clearance, sporty body kit, larger tail pipe, and some others.
The ongoing model is available in two engine choices with five different trim levels namely XB, XE, XM, XT and XZ. It is believed that the forthcoming model is going to be offered only with top-specs mill. It goes without saying that the new avatar will make its way to the dealerships with a slightly higher price tag and compete with the well-known hatchbacks in the country such as Maruti Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
