However, the Nexon concept model made its first debut in 2014 Auto Expo and now we are looking forward to see the production version of the car. Mechanically, it would be powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine plus a 1.5-litre diesel power mill. The power parameters have not been revealed yet. But, the engine is likely to come paired to a six-speed manual transmission offering three drive modes.

The test mule depicts that the new Nexon C-SUV is based on Tata’s next-gen ‘Impact Design’ philosophy. We might get to see some significant exterior attachments such as 'chrome humanity line' on the upper grille followed by projector headlights with DRLs, floating roof, LED tail lamps and uprised belt line. It will stand on 16-inch alloy wheels, providing 200mm of ground clearance.

The Tata Nexon will be built on the X1 platform that underpins the Bolt and the Zest model. Looking the frequent testing, the Nexon is expected to be launched later this year. It will be facing challenges with models like Mahindra TUV300, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Vitara Brezza.
