Tata Tiago Achieves Impressive Milestone of 1,00,000 Units Roll Out


Tata Tiago hatchback that was introduced in the Indian lineup around one and half year ago, has attained an astounding milestone of 1,00,000 units roll out from brand’s Sanand facility in Gujrat. On April 6, 2017, the 1,00,000 Tiago unit was rolled out from the mentioned manufacturing unit.

The Tata Tiago that brought a fresh appeal to the company’s passenger car portfolio, has helped the brand in gaining 6.11 percent in passenger vehicles market share in April-September 2017 as compared to 5.6 percent in April last year. The recorded Tiago sales at the end of September 2017 was 93,299 units in India. Out of which around 83 percent of mentioned total sales, 77,086 units were petrol-engined models and remaining 16,213 diesel units. Tata Tiago is one of the best selling hatchbacks launched by Tata Motors. Not only the initial positive response from audience comprising 30,000 bookings and a waiting period for about 3-4 months after four months its launch, but also an average sale of 4500 units monthly proves the same.

In terms of looks, Tiago gets smart-looking exterior design with host of styling attributes including a bold grille, chrome work, 3 dimensional headlamps, sculpted bumper housing a wide central air dam with a mesh grille and round fog lamps with chrome bezels. Other than this, alloy wheels, neatly wraparound taillamps and a roof mounted spoiler are also some decoratives at the skin of Tiago. Inside the cabin, well designed Tiago with premium quality material and improved safety features offers ample space for the occupants. Also, the car is the first offering in the segment with a multi-drive mode- City and Eco feature for change in performance as per the rider’s mood.

If the powertrain options are considered, the Tiago comes powered by both diesel and petrol engines. The newly introduced 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder diesel motor which is also known as the Revotorq engine generates 69 bhp and 140 Nm of peak torque through the mated a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard fitment. While, a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, tried and tested by company coughs out the maximum power of 84 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque. The provided transmission options for the petrol variant are a 5-speed manual gearbox and an option AMT unit.

In terms of pricing, the base XE trim of the Tata Tiago is on sale at INR 3.21 lakh. While the top-end XZ variant will make you spend INR 7.4 lakh.
