Tata Tigor Compact Sedan Bookings Open, Launch on March 29

Tata Motors is gearing up to add a new product to its Indian lineup. A few days back, the homegrown carmaker revealed the entire details of the upcoming compact sedan, the Tigor. And now the bookings for this sub 4-meter sedan has been kicked off. The Authorised dealership across the country have started accepting bookings for the Tigor with a token amount of INR 5,000.
The car is based on the similar platform that drove the popular Tiago hatchback and also shares almost similar design cues and most of the body parts with it. Along with the extended tail section, the Tigor will also boast some of the additional features and will be launched on March 29, 2017.

Here we bring you the complete list consisting all the details of the upcoming Tata Tigor:
Dimensions - the all new Tigor measures 3,992mm in length, 1,677mm in width and 1,537mm in height along with a wheelbase of 2,450mm. The compact sedan has a decent ground clearance of 170mm and a boot of size 419 litres.

Features - Similar to the Tiago hatchback, the Tigor will be equipped with the Harman Infotainment system with four speakers, four tweeters, AUX/USB/Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted controls. Moreover, it also gets an Android-based navigation system. On the safety front, it is equipped with dual front airbags. It also features several driving assist technology including ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution).

Under the hood - it will be offered with the choice of either a 1.2-litre Petrol mill or 1.0-litre Diesel mill.
The 1,199cc 3-cylinder petrol powerhouse is capable of developing a maximum power of 85 hp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 114 Nm which comes out at 3,500 rpm.

On the other hand, the 1,047cc 3-cylinder diesel mill produces a maximum power of 70 hp at 4,000 rpm along with the 140 Nm of torque which churns out at 1,800 - 3,000 rpm.
Both the powerhouses are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

In terms of price, the all new Tigor is expected to fall in the price bracket of INR 4 to 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom), thereby making it the most affordable model in its class.
