The Most Powerful and Biggest Mini; 2017 Countryman JCW Unveiled

The new 2017 Mini Cooper Countryman, the powerful and biggest ever vehicle under the moniker of Mini, has been revealed by the automaker. In its second generation, the car gets a special treatment from the company’s racing car division John Cooper Works.

On the mechanical front, the new Mini JCW Countryman, however, gets the same Countryman's 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, which currently powering the entire JCW family, but slightly retuned to produce more power. With such update, the engine is now capable enough to propel the unit with a power of 228 Bhp (13 Bhp more than the previous one) with 350 Nm of torque.

Transmission options include a six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic gearbox that will help the engine to sent the power to all four wheels via the All4 intelligent all-wheel drive system. Interestingly, both these transmission options have the same acceleration time of 6.5 seconds for making 0-100 kmph sprint. Having this mechanism, the car is also claimed to have improved fuel mileage that rated at 7.4L/100km for the manual unit and 6.9L/km for the automatic unit. The top speed stands at 233 km/h.

To stand out it from the crowd, some tweaks has also been made over the design with new front bumper sacrifices fog lights for having larger air inlets, a new body kit, a new roof spoiler, a grille covered by the red strip and JCW badges spruce up each side of the unit. Inside the cabin, it comes with JCW sports seats with integrated headrest, shifters and upgraded multi-function steering wheel. There is also a 6.5-inch sat-nav system which can be updated to an 8.5-inch unit.

Besides, the top-of-the-range JCW Countryman models get sports suspension for all four corners, either 18 or 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels, stiffened springs and dampers and four-piston Brembo brakes with four-pot calipers. Rest of the details will be released at the Shanghai Motor Show in April where the debut of this second generation Mini JCW Countryman will take place whereas advanced booking starts soon afterwards.
