Tigor EV and Zoomcar Comes Together in Pune

500 Tigor Electric Vehicles have been supplied to the Zoomcar for rent in Pune by Tata Motors. The India car manufacturer Tata Motors and self-driving rental platform Zoomcar have joined hands to promote the EVs in India due to which Indians can adopt the EVs. By Shailesh Chandra, President, Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors and Greg Moran, Co-Founder and CEO, Zoomcar, the first batch of Tigor EVs were initiated from Concorde Motors.

It is a great pleasure to announce our partnership with Zoomcar to offer shared electric mobility solution for the citizens of Pune.  Tata Tigor  EV will now be available on the self-drive rental platform, offered by Zoomcar, to enable zero-emission transport option for the citizens of Pune. We are confident that our customers will appreciate and enjoy the driving experience” said Shailesh Chandra while speaking on the occasion.

“The Zoomcar team is thrilled to partner with Tata Motors to bring electric vehicles to Pune. This marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership with electric mobility and we expect to touch 20 cities and 500 electric vehicles with Tata over the next year” said Greg Moran, commenting on the partnership.

A survey was done by Tigor EV in June 2018, which reported that the range of EVs is poor. But Tata denied the claims and said that still 130 km range is provided at an overnight charge while as per the ARAI standard test conditions, with full-charge, the driving range is 142 km. Also, the company claimed that EESL based Tigor EVs are according to the tender requirements.
