Toyota Goes Ahead For Another Recalling Owing to Faulty Airbags

The Japanese automaker Toyota has issued a notification, informing the buyers about the recall of models, namely; Corolla Altis, Yaris and Vios. These recalled models, which were manufactured between April 2007 and December 2008 have been reported to carry defective front passenger airbags. The defective airbags are manufactured and supplied by the Japanese part maker Takata, who has also manufactured airbags for Nissan and Honda cars. This is the third callback announcement made by Toyota in the year 2015. Earlier in the month of May, the company had recalled 97,000 units from the market worldwide. And now, 30,000 more units are being recalled by Toyota.

According to the company, the vehicles which were manufactured after 2008 do not contain any faulty airbags. The list of vehicles with defective airbags also includes models like the Camry and RAV4. All of these models are reported to have a defect in their passenger side airbags except RAV4 which has a faulty driver side airbag.

The number of models recalled with faulty airbags by Takata has been registered to be the maximum in the history of the automobile market. Toyota has claimed that these faulty models will be repaired at the company showrooms free of cost. The company is trying hard to ensure safety of the passengers and hence so many withdrawals are being carried out. Faulty airbags have not only proved to be dangerous, but it is also fatal for the passengers. These airbags inflate under certain pressure conditions and shoot a metal shrapnel which can even cause death.

With so many withdrawals within such a short period of time, companies are definitely facing a lot of trouble. This situation has not only affected the sales figure, but has also shaken the faith of customers in the respective automobile brands.
