Toyota Plans to Equip All Models with ABS in India

The car market in India is not only receiving cars from all manufacturers, but the already available ones are also making much efforts to stay alive in the hunt. The latest news coming to the market is about the Japanese car-maker Toyota as it is planning to make Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) across all of its models in India. The step has been taken at a time when most of the cars in India are under scrutiny for safety measures they are taking. Well, it seems that Toyota has found a way to deal with.

The Anti-Lock Braking System or ABS is very effective to stop the car without jamming wheels when the driver applies the brakes. This ABS in conjunction Electronic sensors at the tyres applies only required amount of force to stop the car and it prevents the skidding of car as well. Also, the rash driving in India often brings the situations where people need to stop the car suddenly and there this ABS could work.

Mr. N. Raja, Director and Senior VP, Sales and Marketing of Toyota said “The new safety regulations are likely to be enforced by 2017 and further norms towards pedestrian safety are also likely to be implemented by the end if the decade. Our current initiative will not only offer a safer car to our buyers, but also give us an edge against the competition.”
