Toyota Reveals 2016 Etios Platinum Facelift in Brazil

Toyota has brought up a refreshed facelift model of the 2016 Etios and the Liva. The automaker has named the cars as Etios Platinum and Liva Platinum. Reportedly, this is said to be the second facelift attempt to the respective models since their launch in 2010. These car models have been priced at R$ 62,490 (INR 12.81 Lakhs) and R$ 65,990 (INR 13.53 Lakhs), respectively.

The facelift models have been unveiled in Brazil and is likely to arrive India soon. Toyota is presently testing the cars on Indian roads. The platinum models get a new V-shaped grille with black inserts and chrome accents in the front. The front bumper gets a larger air dam with proper fitting of fog lamps. The additional black inserts gives the car a sporty outlook. However, the cars appear same if seen from the side but with newly designed 15-inch alloy wheels. Also, the company has added cruise control on top trims.

The Brazilian-spec gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine which develops 107 hp (10.5 hp power bump). The engine is paired with a new 4-speed automatic transmission option. Toyota claims that the facelifted models will come with improved cabin soundproofing, electric-assisted steering system and ride quality.

The interior of the Etios Platinum gets an all-new Corolla-like steering wheel, an all-black dashboard with piano black trim, touchscreen infotainment system integrated with navigation and a digital instrument cluster. The India-spec Etios and Liva is expected to be launched in India by the year end.
