This TCSS option is available for those Suzuki SX4 S-Cross users only that possess the topmost SZ5 variant and is priced at £1350 (INR 1.35 lacs) more than the equivalent model with a manual gearbox. As far as Indian market is concerned, the buyers would get only the manual variant at least initially. Even the company expects this model to be a mileage breaker, at least for those car buyers who favor automatic variants over manual versions.

If we look at the engine lineup of this model we observe that the 1.6-liter DDiS engine this model comes with is identical to the one found in the Maruti S-Cross sold in India and as per the sources the engine produces 120 PS and 320 Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed manual or the newly launched TCSS option. The UK model as per reports comes with an ALLGRIP AWD system as standard, while in Indian market, the S-Cross is offered purely with 2WD.

As the Indian buyers are constantly on the lookout for diesel compact SUVs with automatic transmission, it is speculated that Maruti can shortly come up with the TCSS option for the DDiS 320 variant. If the company is able to get this done, the model will compete with models like Hyundai Creta 1.6 AT, the Mahindra Scorpio AT and the upcoming Renault Duster facelift which is also reported to get an automatic gearbox.
