Two-Wheelers Prices Increased in Maharashtra Due to New Budget

Maharashtra is one of the most populous as well as business opportunistic states in the country. No matter, if it is an automobile sector, service or any other area, this is the place where any market holder want to set up its unit. When it comes to the automobile segment, you will find lots of two-wheeler and four-wheeler showrooms located in its various cities. Well, it might disappoint you little but from now onwards you have to spend slightly more price to buy a new bike owing to new budget.

The state government has announced its Union Budget 2016 in which they have revised the tax structure for the motorcycle segment as well as for the three-wheeler segment. According to the new budget the motor vehicle tax has been increased with up to 10 percent for locally designed two-wheelers, while the imported roadster will be charged with some additional taxes that are about 16-20%.

Commenting on the revised tax-structure, "Subhash Pedamkar, deputy, Regional Transport Office, said, "We have updated our software and will be charging the revised rates of two-wheeler road tax from Tuesday morning. Most of the bikes are of high value these days (Rs 1.5-2 lakh), and therefore, buyers will feel the pinch. For imported bikes, the tax slabs are being doubled. The new tax structure will be in the range of 16-20 per cent for imported two-wheelers."
