UM Global to Begin Operation in Mid-2015

As we all that the UM Global has entered Indian two-wheeler market this fiscal year. The firm has come-up by having the joint collaboration with Lohia Auto, which is based in Kashipur. The UM Global had previously made an announcement that they will be going to enter with the Renegade Commando in India. This is a US based motorcycle manufacturer, which has showcased their complete range of upcoming motorcycles at the Delhi Auto Expo, 2014. The Auto Expo was being held in the month of February.

The firm will be entering into the Indian two-wheeler market carrying a range starting from 250cc to 500cc motorcycles. The engine displacement range also varies in several existing models as well. Although, the firm has covered an entire range of sports bikes, dual-sports, scooters and cruisers. But, for now, only cruiser will be making its way towards India. We would be expecting these motorcycles to carry an affordable price tag. The production will be initially get started at the Lohia Auto's plant located in Kashipur. The firm has also announced to invest Rs 120 crores to construct modernize manufacturing facility.

Speaking about the company's future plans, Mr. Rajeev Mishra, Managing Director of UM Global India says, "The process has started to appoint the dealers. We are expecting the products to be available in showrooms by the end of July. In one year we are planning to launch about four-five models." He also added, "We will initially launch two motorcycles - one in 250cc and one in 300cc segment. UM Motorcycles will start accepting bookings of its motorcycles in the first week of June, while deliveries are expected to commence by the end of July. These two motorcycles will be followed by a 400cc model".

The UM Global is planning to set up 50 dealerships across the country, covering metros and major cities. After launching the Renegade Commando, the firm has future plans to introduce at least five models every year for a better expansion of their Indian product portfolio.
