UM Motorcycles to Dispatch Machines from June 2016

The American two-wheeler brand UM Motorcycles is gearing up its pace in the Indian market as the giant has started taking the bookings for the India-specific range. It's been only two months that the bikes were unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo and UM has already initiated the bookings. Reportedly, the dispatches are going to be started from June 2016 onwards. Apparently, the year is likely to be very profitable to the automaker as 1000 of the bikes have already been booked as of now.

As far as the current line-up is concerned, the Renegade Commando, the Renegade Classic, and the Renegade Sport S are on sale in the country. Besides, these bikes are the only ones, which are giving a tough competition to the well-established brand Royal Enfield.

In partnership with Lohia Auto, the company will look after its production and after sales service in India. Moreover, it is anticipated that the bike-maker may go beyond this specific India region and export the bikes in some other countries as well. Up till now we have heard about the better power output of UM bikes over the RE ones. On an additional note, the latter is having a five-speed transmission unit as compared to the six-speed in the former. Though, these talks could be fictitious. The reality will be in front of us only when the bikes will put on an action.

Opening 22 dealerships across the country is an impressive step by the new entrant, however, it would be extremely difficult for them to match up with the highly demanding and dominating market segment of Royal Enfield. Till then, just wait and watch how the Renegade machines will take on the market share and how well they perform.
