UM Renegade Classic Launch in 2017 With Fuel Injection and The ABS

At the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the American bike maker- UM Motorcycles officially entered to the Indian two-wheeler market with its Renegade range of motorcycles. The UM Renegade series comprises of the Renegade Sport S, Renegade Commando, and the Renegade Classic, out of which the earlier two in the line has been launched at the same event at the quoted price of INR 1.49 lakh and INR 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

Now, the automaker is willing to expand its product portfolio with the Introduction of the UM Renegade Classic. Earlier, the cruiser was likely to be launched later this year. But the UM officials have confirmed the launch in 2017. Quoted to be priced INR 1.69 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), booking for the Renegade classic will start in January 2017 and the placed order will be expected to deliver in April the same year.

On mechanicals, the whole UM Renegade range share the similar powertrain of 280cc, air-cooled , single-cylinder engine that churns out the maximum power of 25PS and a peak torque of 22Nm. However, the Commando and the Sport S uses carburetor for internal combustion, while the Renegade Classic will be offered with the fuel-injection system to burn the fuel. Moreover, it is expected to equip with the ABS as an option as well.

Moreover, the speculations are the ongoing Renegade duos twins may also be offered in fuel injection variants in the first half of 2017. And, these models are uncertain to be fitted with ABS in the coming future as it will raise the price closer to INR 2 lakh.

The Renegade Classic will be positioned on the top of the model range. Apparently, it features chrome fitted headlamp and instrument console, spoke wheels and relaxed riding position. Once launched it will go head to head with the likes of Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350.
