Upcoming Honda BR-V to Carry a Competitive Price Tag

As per some fresh market reports, Mr Jnaneshwar Sen, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India has told ET Auto in an interview that the Honda BR-V is going to be priced “very competitively”. This family SUV is scheduled to be launched on 5th May, 2016 and will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta as well as Renault Duster, which are already doing a commendable job in the market. However, the upcoming BR-V has an advantage over other cars in the segment as it will be rolled out with the longest wheelbase measuring 2,660 mm and a third row seat layout will also be offered.

Apart from the wheelbase, other dimensions include 4455 mm length, 1735 mm width, 1650 mm height and a ground clearance of 201 mm. As far as the cosmetic features are concerned, it will be carrying projector headlamps containing LED units, diamond cut alloys, skid plates, roof rails as well as a rear spoiler. Inside, it will bear resemblance with the Amaze facelift that has been introduced recently. Some of the prominent components are- automatic climate control, steering mounted audio controls, integrated music system with Bluetooth, dual front airbags, ABS and EBD.

Talking about the mechanical configuration, it will be available with both diesel and petrol engine options carrying a 1.5 litre unit. The details about petrol model have not been disclosed yet, while the diesel trim will make 100PS and 200Nm of maximum output that will be sent to the wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The AWD setup won't make its way to the BR-V, but a CVT facility is possible in the petrol variant.
